Common Koperasi System developed in Malaysia

Most client base Koperasi system developed using Visual Basic are not routable through internet or intranet.

The first Koperasi system in Malaysia developed NOT using any Microsoft proprietary product like Microsoft SQL server and Internet Information server (IIS 5.0).

Default database platform is an open source platform , MySQL.

However, OIKMS is compatible with any database platform such Oracle and Microsoft SQL database.

Most common systems are developed using Microsoft proprietary product like, Microsoft SQL server. Microsoft SQL server license is very costly.

And most common systems developed is not compatible with other than MS SQL database such as Oracle, MySQL and etc.

Virus resistant. MySQL server database has never been infected by virus.

Virus easily infects Microsoft SQL database.

The server can be installed onto a Linux platform (such as Redhat, Mandrake, FreeBSD, Cobalt and etc) , therefore OIKMS is not bound to any license. OIKMS could save Koperasi budget by not using license Windows 2000 server.

Most of the systems are developed meant for only Windows environment (Windows 2000, Windows NT and etc).

Windows 2000 Server license cost at a minimum of RM 2,500.00 (5 users connection).

OIKMS is fully integrated with the accounting system. Any transaction in OIKMS is automatically reflected in the accounting section. Therefore there will be less work for Koperasi staff. And the Koperasi can focus the staffs in doing some other business.

Most Koperasi systems in Malaysia do not come with accounting. Even if they come with accounting, still have to manually transfer all transaction to the accounting section.

Therefore Staff have to do redundant work ,e.g when there is a withdrawal made by members, Staff also have to manually deduct the withdrawal in different accounting software (such as UBS account)

Unlimited licenses. OIKMS is never need a license and can be used for unlimited connection.

Limit to certain license that Koperasi purchase. Koperasi has to pay a minimal RM 10,000.00 for Microsoft SQL server license and RM 2,500.00 for Windows 2000 server connection.

One time investment. The system is capable to last forever. This is due to that web technology is been used for the last 20 years and will still be used for the next 20 years.

Muntada is offering every 2 years upgrading services with a minimal cost. This to ensure the system is always up to date with current technology.

Most common system develop only would last for a maximum of 5 years. After 5 years, Koperasi again has to invest for a new system.
